YPSILANTI, Mich. (cornerhealth.org) -- The Corner Health Center's Healthy Youth, Healthy Futures member Ruth Mella has been named the first official Youth Poet Laureate of Ypsilanti, April 1.
An impressive feat, Mella also won Eastern Michigan University's Martin Luther King Jr.'s “Driven by the Dream” Scholarship earlier this year. Mella will be honored on June 9 during the Ypsilanti Youth Poet Laureate commencement event.
