Youth Justice Programs

We believe in serving all youth and young adults, ages 12-25 and their children. See below for programs and services specifically for young people needing additional support.

About our justice programs

At Corner Health Center, our Justice Programs are designed to meet youth and young adults where they are, creating opportunities for growth, healing, and second chances.

We believe that access to care, connection, and compassion can change the path of a young person’s life. Through our integrated health and justice initiatives, we work to reduce system involvement, promote accountability, and empower youth to build healthier futures.

Our team partners with local law enforcement, schools, and community organizations to provide support at every stage of the justice journey, from prevention to intervention and re-entry. Each program focuses on wraparound care that addresses the whole person, not just the behavior.

Our Justice Programs include:

  • RAPID Program: Providing pre-arrest deflection, intervention, and re-entry services for youth and young adults in Washtenaw County.
  • SASS Program: Offering an alternative to sentencing for youth caregivers through case management and behavioral health support.

At Corner Health, we see the potential in every young person. Our programs aim to replace punishment with possibility, helping youth return to themselves, their goals, and their communities with confidence.

S.A.S.S.

(Specialized Alternative to Sentencing Support) The SASS Program at Corner Health Center is a caregiver diversion program that provides youth caregivers and young adults with an alternative to traditional sentencing. Participants in this program are already justice-involved, meaning they have active charges or are navigating court proceedings. SASS also supports individuals with deferred dispositions or other post-sentencing circumstances who are working toward a second chance.

The program is designed for youth and young adults ages 12 to 25 who have caregiving responsibilities within their families. Our goal is to reduce recidivism, strengthen family systems, and create space for participants to rebuild their lives with the support and care they deserve.

SASS operates in partnership with the Washtenaw County Trial Court, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), and the Department of Justice.

R.A.P.I.D.

(Re-Entry, Pre-Arrest Deflection, Intervention, and Diversion) The RAPID Program at Corner Health Center is a community-based initiative designed to meet youth and young adults exactly where they are. The program provides early intervention, pre-arrest deflection, and re-entry support for individuals ages 12 to 25 who are at risk of or currently involved in the justice system.

Through RAPID, Corner Health partners with local law enforcement, schools, and community agencies to create meaningful alternatives to arrest, reduce recidivism, and promote positive outcomes for young people in Washtenaw County.

RAPID is built on an individualized, youth-centered approach. Every participant receives a personalized plan that addresses their needs, goals, and barriers while connecting them to the supportive services available through Corner Health and our community network.
