YPSILANTI, Mich.(CornerHealth.org) – The Corner Health Center’s Expanding, Enhancing Emotional Health (E3) program, was commended for being among the best practice sites in the state, following an audit conducted from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The program earned an “A” rating after its audit report, the highest score possible and guaranteeing the program remains accredited through 2028.
The E3 program provides mental and behavioral health services for youth ages 10 to 21 at Belleville High School. A Counselor/Therapist and Office Manager are available to all eligible youth who reside in the Van Buren School district. Individual counseling as well as some education and outreach is provided in the catchment area. The Corner Health Center provides backup services for young people with moderate to severe mental illness, while connecting all patients with its model of integrated primary care and social services.

E3 Therapists Elise Hill and Jonathan Edwards, Office Manager Aminah Jefferson, and Behavioral Health Manager Jennifer Schwartz were individually honored for their contributions to the program’s successful implementation.
“Elise, Jonathan, Aminah, and Jennifer make The Corner incredibly proud,” said Executive Director Alex Plum. “Their leadership, organization, attention to detail, and most importantly their passion and commitment to this work are the reasons why The Corner is able to provide such exceptional care.” In their report, MDHHS repeatedly praised The Corner’s tools, processes, and models as examples that can be replicated around the state.
