Laurel works behind the scenes to keep systems, spaces, and operations aligned with the needs of the people doing the work. From facilities and procurement to process design and tech support, her work supports the infrastructure of the Corner Health Center.

Schroder worked in higher education, law, and nonprofits, but what’s stayed constant is her draw to the kind of work that supports others: easing friction, building structure, and creating systems that feel human, not mechanical. Whether it’s streamlining a workflow or fixing something that’s quietly been broken for too long, Laurel finds satisfaction in the quiet improvements that help people do their jobs more easily.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Critical Gender Studies and a master’s in Social Work, which inform her people centered approach to operational work. Her focus is on making the work behind the work feel supportive, practical, and thoughtfully designed.

Laurel lives in Ann Arbor with her partner Lee, two quirky teenagers, three very suspicious cats, and two very good dogs.
